The New Jersey Spartans named Richard Bisset the teams new Quality Control Coach.
Bisset joins the Spartans coaching staff after working with the Fairleigh Dickinson University football staff a few seasons ago. Currently, he is working on a degree in exercise science and physiology at Rutgers University. He is aspiring to become a certified strength and conditioning coach through C.S.C.S and the NSCA. Until that time comes he will assist the team and staff in many capacities this upcoming season.
The New Jersey Spartans Organization strongly believe that this will be a great opportunity for him (Bisset) to learn and hone in on his coaching, while pursuing his goal of becoming a Certified Strength & Conditioning Coach.
The New Jersey Spartans brought in Andre Manning to help add some versatility to an already dynamic offensive unit.
Coach Manning joins the Spartans staff as an Offensive Assistant after spending a more than a decade in the football coaching ranks. Most recently, In 2007, he was the Offensive Coordinator for minor league football team that featured a very explosive offense with his unorthodox run game philosophy as its base. Which is something the Spartans hope to utilize this season.
With a Martial Arts Background in Goshi Shun Karate, where he holds a black belt mastery, as well as his time spent as a NJ Correctional Officer, Coach Manning looks to bring with him a level of discipline, hard work, and dedication that the players can appreciate & emulate.
The Spartans are very pleased with the addition of Coach Manning and due to his very good background on the offensive side of the ball, look forward to seeing what he can do for the team this season.
Yesterday, Feb 9th, The Spartans Team Representatives attended the RAFL (Regional American Football League) meeting in PA. The meeting was very organized and informative. After a extensive Interview and application process the New Jersey Spartans Football Organization became the 1st of 16 teams that were accepted into the League. The other teams that were voted in came from NJ, NY, PA, CT, and MD. In their inaugural year the RAFL (then Regional Atlantic Football League) was only 14 teams strong and now with the addition of the NJ Spartans and other teams have become the biggest league on the East Coast with about 30+ teams.
